MANHUNT OVER: Killer Captured—But Two Remain at Large!

A man has been charged with second-degree murder following a fatal shooting that unfolded in Toronto on September 24th. Donald Keeshig, 29, surrendered to police at Scarborough’s 42 Division on Sunday, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation.

The victim, 42-year-old Yueyuan Dong of Woodbridge, succumbed to his injuries after a month-long fight for his life. He was initially shot during an altercation at a local establishment, triggering a frantic emergency response.

Police responded to the scene near Sheppard Avenue and Brimley Road around 10 p.m. on the night of the shooting. First responders immediately initiated life-saving measures, desperately attempting to stabilize Dong before rushing him to hospital.

From left, Kai Chen, 29, Donald Keeshig, 29, and Kye-Shawne Griffiths, 28, are accused in the murder of Yueyuan Dong, 42.

Despite their efforts, Dong tragically died on October 19th. The investigation quickly escalated, leading to a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of two additional suspects: Kai Chen, 29, of Markham, and Kye-Shawne Griffiths, 28, of Brampton.

Authorities continue to actively search for Chen and Griffiths as the investigation progresses. This incident represents the 35th homicide recorded in Toronto this year, highlighting a concerning trend of violence within the city.

The charges against Keeshig remain unproven in court, and the legal process will now unfold to determine his involvement in this tragic event. The search for the remaining suspects continues, with investigators urging anyone with information to come forward.

Yueyuan Dong, 42, was shot on Sept. 24, 2025 and died of his injuries on October 19, 2025.
