Judge Wolf, 78, didn’t simply retire; he stepped down in direct opposition to what he describes as a dangerous erosion of legal principles. He felt compelled to break his silence, stating he could no longer remain bound by the restrictions placed upon a judge’s public expression.
His resignation stems from a conviction that the current president is actively manipulating the legal system for personal and political gain. Wolf alleges a pattern of targeting adversaries while shielding allies from scrutiny, a practice he views as a betrayal of everything he’s dedicated his career to.
For over fifty years, Wolf served within the Department of Justice and on the bench, believing in a judiciary that championed equal justice and protected democratic ideals. He envisioned a system that held power accountable and safeguarded the rights of all citizens, especially the vulnerable.
