Trump Announces Landmark Deal on Comprehensive Peace Accord

The President announced on Thursday that his Board of Peace has reached an agreement to disarm Hamas and "all other armed groups in Gaza," marking a significant step towards lasting peace and security in the region.

The agreement is a major milestone in the implementation of the President's 20-point Gaza Peace Plan, which was unveiled last September. According to reports, Hamas is expected to sign the agreement in the coming days.

Fighting between Israel and Hamas in Gaza has continued since the collapse of a previous ceasefire. Israeli forces have been launching airstrikes against Hamas targets, with a recent strike hitting a mosque in Gaza City that was allegedly being used as a weapons storage facility.

Former President Donald Trump signs a document at the Board of Peace event, surrounded by international leaders and officials.

The President hailed the agreement as a "historic" and "monumental" step towards peace and security, stating that it will be carried out in carefully structured phases. As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to take responsibility for Gaza's safety.

However, Israeli officials are reportedly "highly skeptical" of Hamas's commitment to disarming, and any further withdrawal of Israeli forces will be contingent on Hamas's complete disarmament. A source involved in the negotiations described the agreement as a "good deal for Israel" because it takes care of the Gaza problem.

The agreement is seen as a critical step towards Gaza being governed by a new Palestinian government that will work closely with the President's Board of Peace to help the Palestinian people. The President thanked the mediators – Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye – for their efforts and praised his team for their tireless work in making the historic breakthrough possible.

The President stated that the threat from Gaza, which emerged on October 7, will not be allowed to rebuild, and that Gaza will finally be in the hands of a new Palestinian government that serves its people.
