West Ham Forward Seeks Transfer Amid £30m Impasse, Loan Considered

West Ham Forward Seeks Transfer Amid £30m Impasse, Loan Considered

West Ham United have already begun offloading key players from last season, and Argentine striker Taty Castellanos is now on the shortlist for a potential move.

The club’s late‑season push to avoid relegation saw a wave of signings in January, with Castellanos emerging as the most high‑profile acquisition. He netted seven goals in the remainder of the campaign after a £30 million transfer.

Following the club’s drop to the Championship, Castellanos has expressed a desire to leave, but a transfer is unlikely to materialise easily.

The 27‑year‑old scored in a preseason friendly against Stevenage this week, yet he hopes his involvement with the team will remain limited.

Contractually, he is only six months into a four‑and‑a‑half‑year deal, and while West Ham is open to a sale, they insist on recouping the transfer fee paid.

Interest from other clubs has been sparse this summer, making a direct sale challenging; a loan arrangement could offer a compromise.

West Ham aims for immediate promotion back to the Premier League, and a loan could allow Castellanos to contribute at the top level next season.

However, securing a loan may prove difficult, leaving the striker with the option of staying, performing in the Championship, and hoping for a future move.
