John Lewis Christmas Ad Star Alison Limerick Reveals Shocking

John Lewis Christmas Ad Star Alison Limerick Reveals Shocking

Alison Limerick, the singer behind the iconic hit "Where Love Lives," is set to perform at Brighton Pride this weekend.

Limerick is widely regarded as a 90s music legend, with "Where Love Lives" considered one of the best club anthems of all time.

However, fans may be surprised to learn that when the song was featured in last year's John Lewis Christmas advert, Limerick had no idea it was going to be used.

"I was the last one to know!" the 66-year-old singer exclaimed. "The advert might even have already been made by the time I found out because I don't own the song."

Despite the unexpected turn of events, Limerick has been busy working on her new solo album, "So You Think You," which marks her first solo release in 30 years.

Limerick emphasizes that she hasn't taken a break from music, but rather has been focused on releasing singles and working with various artists over the years.

"People don't do albums anymore," she notes. "Except for a few exceptions like Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, who have the marketing power to let everyone know what they're doing."

Limerick cites Swift and Grande as her inspirations, and is excited to share her new music with fans at Brighton Pride.

When asked about her performance at the event, Limerick expressed her enthusiasm: "I hope so! I did all those gay clubs back in the day. I did New Year's Eve at Heaven. Oh my God! Come on, that's the big one. It was an astonishing evening."

Limerick's music career has been marked by highs and lows, including a personal song she wrote after her mother's passing, titled "Sista Mother Child."

The song is deeply meaningful to Limerick, who struggled to perform it live due to its emotional impact.

"When we started singing it, I got about three quarters of the way through it and I just was in tears," she recalled. "I had to grab a box of tissues to continue."

Limerick will perform alongside Diana Ross and other notable artists at Brighton Pride, and is set to release her new album soon.

For those attending the event, Limerick promises an unforgettable experience, saying, "There ain't no crowd like a gay crowd kicking off on a New Year's Eve. It was fantastic."
