A fugitive drill rapper is taunting authorities with new music, just days after a brazen escape from police custody. Daniel Boakye, known as DSAVV, vanished from University Hospital Lewisham on Sunday, sparking a manhunt across London.
Now, a video circulating online appears to show Boakye reveling in his freedom. The footage depicts a young man, believed to be the 21-year-old rapper, rapping with an article detailing his escape displayed on a nearby television screen.
The lyrics are defiant, boasting about “breaking out of jail” and dismissing the government as “phoneys.” He references other figures known for escaping consequences, weaving a narrative of street legend and untouchability.
This isn’t Boakye’s first attempt to evade capture. He had previously absconded from custody just days before his escape from the hospital, demonstrating a pattern of calculated risk and a willingness to challenge the system.
Police chased Boakye after he fled the hospital around 3pm on Sunday, but he managed to slip away before they could apprehend him. He is described as a black man of medium height and slim build, last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket.
Boakye’s history includes a July 2023 conviction for a string of terrifying knifepoint robberies across London. Victims were forced to surrender their phones and reveal account passcodes, leading to significant financial losses.
The Metropolitan Police are currently reviewing the circumstances surrounding his escape from the hospital, and the Directorate of Professional Standards has been notified. The investigation aims to understand how Boakye was able to flee while under police guard.
Authorities continue to search for Boakye, while his music serves as a bold, unsettling message to those pursuing him – a testament to a life lived on the edge and a defiant rejection of confinement.
