The White House hosted a press briefing on Thursday in which President Donald Trump was slated to disclose new evidence related to foreign interference in U.S. elections.
A question from the press asked why no criminal charges had been brought against anyone if the evidence was as substantial as the administration suggested.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt replied that the documents had not yet been fully declassified and would be presented during the president’s speech, after which further steps would be taken.

Trump is expected to reveal that Chinese authorities compromised American voter data and that the CIA was aware of the activity during his first term but allegedly withheld the information.
The briefing will include appearances from CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Acting DNI Bill Pulte, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin, and FBI Director Kash Patel, with a task force preparing to release newly declassified intelligence.
Emphasizing the importance of free and fair elections, Trump is anticipated to detail the actions of foreign adversaries and internal officials that threatened the electoral process.
