President Donald Trump issued a forceful warning against Iran following a surprise missile attack on U.S. forces in Jordan earlier that night.
The assault involved Iranian ballistic missiles aimed at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base and the headquarters of U.S. Central Command in Jordan. All missiles were intercepted by U.S. defenses, and no casualties or damage were reported.
Central Command officials confirmed the successful interceptions and reviewed footage of U.S. personnel coordinating the response in real time.
Simultaneously, U.S. and Saudi fighter aircraft struck multiple Iranian‑backed Shiite logistics and weapons sites in eastern Iraq after alleged drone attacks on Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Defense Ministry stated it does not seek escalation but will respond to aggression, noting that the strikes were coordinated with the Iraqi government.
Trump described the militias as a “cancer on the world” and indicated that additional warnings against Iranian proxies may be considered, while affirming that diplomatic talks with Iran would continue.
