US Deploys B-1 Bombers to Strike Iran for First Time Since 2023

U.S. forces have deployed B‑1B Lancer bombers for the first time since hostilities resumed earlier this month, signaling a notable escalation in strikes against Iran.

The deployment occurred during a mission by U.S. Central Command on Tuesday, adding a new capability to the air campaign.

The B‑1B can fly at supersonic speeds and carry up to a 75,000‑pound payload, providing extended range and striking power.

It is not yet known which target the aircraft engaged during the operation.

In the 11th consecutive night of airstrikes, U.S. forces hit Iranian military operations centers, maritime assets, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, and logistics infrastructure, aiming to degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Explosions were observed in Bandar Abbas, a port city in the Strait of Hormuz, during the 13th night of strikes.

President Trump has indicated a willingness to launch a "massive attack" larger than prior operations and has reiterated threats to target Iranian power plants and bridges.
