A 67‑year‑old resident of The Villages, Florida, was arrested on Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault after an alleged confrontation involving a 22‑year‑old male.
The suspect, who met the 21‑year‑old woman on the dating app Tinder, claimed he was seeking a “sugar baby” arrangement and offered her financial support in exchange for companionship.
On July 21, the man gave the woman money, took her shopping, and later returned to his home where she reported feeling uncomfortable and left with friends.
According to the arrest report, the suspect pursued the friends in his Ford F‑150, rammed their vehicle at a traffic circle, and forced it to collide with a telephone pole. One friend fled, but the 22‑year‑old male attempted to leave and was confronted by the suspect, who allegedly pointed a semi‑automatic Ruger at him.
The suspect demanded the victim get on the ground or face lethal force. The victim, who was face‑down, moved to safety when the suspect was distracted.
Police found the suspect at his truck holding the weapon. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and aggravated battery, and was transferred to jail without incident.
The arraignment is scheduled for August 14, and the case remains pending further proceedings.
