A tense situation in Madison, Wisconsin, has emerged after the death of Corey Ruiz, a 38-year-old man who was fatally shot by the police after allegedly brandishing a knife during a police interaction. The incident has sparked a wave of protests, with demonstrators engaging in clashes with drivers and smashing car windows on Friday night.
As the protests reached a boiling point on Friday, attorney Ben Crump held a press conference to voice his concerns. Drawing from the video evidence, Crump accused the Madison Police Department of an "execution-like" action. He further stated, "We witnessed an execution, one that shocked our conscience. Thank God there was video."
This tragic event has once more highlighted the ongoing discussions around police misconduct and lack of accountability in the Madison community.
