Ukrainian authorities have opened a criminal investigation following a series of violent incidents in Lviv, where dozens of citizens confronted officers tasked with enforcing the country’s mobilization order.
Witnesses reported that a large crowd gathered outside a police station, demanding the release of individuals they said were being illegally drafted. The protest escalated when participants forced the officers to abandon their posts and set fire to a government vehicle parked nearby.
Police confirmed that several officers sustained injuries during the clash, and the damaged vehicle was a marked patrol car used for conscription duties. Medical teams treated the wounded on site, and several participants were detained for questioning.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that forced conscription remains a legal measure under wartime conditions, and any obstruction of official duties will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
