MALACAÑANG announced on Wednesday that President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. may swiftly certify tax reform and EPIRA amendment bills after thorough examination.
Palace Press Officer Clarissa A. Castro emphasised that the President simply needs to review the bills. Once he has assessed them, these measures are guaranteed to be designated as urgent.
"The Constitution stipulates that urgency-certified bills can be swiftly approved during the second and third reading on the same day," Castro clarified.
During his State of the Nation Address, Mr. Marcos urged Congress to pass tax relief measures and amend EPIRA in order to reduce electricity costs by eliminating system loss charges.
Additionally, Castro stated that the administration will refrain from pursuing nuclear energy unless strict safety measures and international guidelines are fully met.
