Windows 11 Right-Click Menu to Be Faster, Less Cluttered

Windows 11 Right-Click Menu to Be Faster, Less Cluttered

Microsoft is developing a streamlined context menu for Windows 11 that promises faster access to frequently used functions.

The current menu can lag when Microsoft and third‑party applications add numerous extensions, creating clutter and slowing response times.

The new design will load only the most common actions, postponing other extensions until needed, which should reduce delays and improve performance.

Users will gain a customization panel that lets them show, hide, or reorder the commands and apps that appear in the context menu.

A “Customize” option will appear at the bottom of the menu, allowing immediate adjustments without navigating through separate settings.

While the exact release date remains unconfirmed, the update may launch later this year as part of a broader effort to accelerate Windows 11, including a shift to a WinUI 3‑based interface.

These changes reflect Microsoft’s focus on delivering a more responsive and user‑friendly experience across the operating system.
