France Star Overcome with Emotion Following Crucial England Defeat

The England national team has overcome a ten-goal thriller against France in Miami, in a match that was marked by missed opportunities and a thrilling finish.

England's Bukayo Saka completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot, while Ousmane Dembele and Jude Bellingham traded goals at the death to cap off the contest.

Bellingham's 98th-minute effort saw the Real Madrid star claim the record as the highest scorer of any Englishman at a single World Cup, with seven goals under his belt.

Meanwhile, French winger Odilon Olise missed two gilt-edged chances as England took the win.

Olise was left to rue his missed opportunities, breaking down in tears and blaming himself for the loss in the French dressing room.

The Three Lions claimed the consolation prize following a devastating semi-final loss to Argentina, and the team will now shift their focus to the next match.

France, on the other hand, finished their campaign without a single goal to their name from eight appearances, despite Olise claiming seven assists for Les Bleus - the most from any player in a single World Cup in the last 60 years.

An irate Adrien Rabiot made clear his feelings after the final whistle, telling reporters that the team started the first half in a rather shameful way, with some players exhibiting behaviour he had never seen before.

The France midfielder added that it was disappointing, as it was the last match to do well in the competition, and that the team needed to show some pride.

Rabiot also paid tribute to outgoing manager Didier Deschamps, who stepped down from his position as head coach this summer, eight years after steering his country to 2018 World Cup glory in Russia.

Deschamps refused to single out any of his players for criticism, taking responsibility for the manner of France's defeat and stating that he should have made choices from the start of the match to prevent things from going downhill.

The World Cup final between Spain and Argentina will take place on Sunday, July 19 at 8pm BST at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium.
