Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry issued a formal condemnation of recent drone strikes targeting vessels that transport oil through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) network.
The ministry warned that assaults on civilian shipping jeopardize maritime security, disrupt the steady flow of energy resources, and infringe upon Kazakhstan’s economic interests.
The CPC pipeline spans 1,510 km, linking oil fields in western Kazakhstan to the export terminal near Novorossiysk. It handles roughly 80 % of Kazakhstan’s crude oil exports.
Key shareholders in the pipeline include Transneft, KazMunayGas, Chevron, Lukoil, ExxonMobil and the Rosneft‑Shell Caspian Ventures joint venture.
