Journey guitarist calls Bruce Springsteen annoying in interview

Jonathan Cain, keyboardist and guitarist for Journey, criticized Bruce Springsteen during a recent podcast appearance, calling him an “annoying, bitter old man” for turning concerts into political rallies against former President Donald Trump.

Cain described himself as a “diehard conservative,” noting that he once identified with the Democratic Party before changing his political alignment.

He urged Springsteen to refrain from using his stage for political preaching, emphasizing his belief that music should remain separate from partisan commentary.

Cain argued that political statements at concerts disrespect the nation, pointing to Springsteen’s recent remarks as a particularly egregious example.

Springsteen, now 76, has repeatedly condemned the Trump administration during his tour, labeling it reckless and treasonous and describing the country as facing “very dark times.”

At a Washington, D.C. show, he delivered a six‑minute anti‑Trump tirade, urging the audience to make their voices heard at the White House.

He has also dedicated performances to individuals such as Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who died while opposing immigration enforcement actions.
