The suspect involved in a high-speed chase through Los Angeles County was taken into custody Tuesday morning after a series of evasive maneuvers and near-misses with other drivers.
The pursuit began around 7:15 a.m. when investigators attempted to apprehend the driver of a black Range Rover, who was allegedly involved in a recent road rage incident.
The driver, who remained unidentified, quickly exited the freeway and sped through surface streets in Koreatown, at times crossing into opposing lanes and putting numerous morning commuters in harm's way.
The Range Rover reportedly reached speeds exceeding 100 mph as the chase entered the San Gabriel Valley shortly before 8 a.m., prompting widespread concern for public safety.
The pursuit finally came to an end in Montebello after the driver veered into a center median and a trailing patrol vehicle rammed the SUV, bringing the suspect under control.
Multiple officers surrounded the Range Rover and took the suspect into custody, bringing an end to the harrowing ordeal that had captivated onlookers and commuters alike.
