Earn instant elite status at Hilton, Marriott, and LHW hotels

Earn instant elite status at Hilton, Marriott, and LHW hotels

High‑end credit cards often hide perks that can boost a traveler’s experience. Among these, the Platinum and Business Platinum cards from a major issuer grant complimentary elite status with three prominent hotel loyalty programs.

The annual fee of $895 for each card makes it essential to tap into every benefit. One of the most overlooked advantages is automatic enrollment in Marriott Bonvoy Gold, Hilton Honors Gold, and Leaders Club Sterling status.

Cardholders, including authorized users, must first create accounts with Marriott, Hilton, and Leaders Club. Then, logging into the credit‑card portal and navigating to Rewards & Benefits allows enrollment by entering each program’s membership number. Alternatively, a call to the card’s customer‑service line can initiate the process.

Once enrolled, status typically activates within a few business days, though it may take longer. The benefits are most valuable when bookings are made directly through the hotel’s own channels or through the card’s Fine Hotels + Resorts program.

Marriott Bonvoy Gold members earn 25% more points on eligible stays, receive complimentary upgrades subject to availability, and enjoy a 2 p.m. late checkout and enhanced internet at participating properties. Each stay also grants welcome points ranging from 250 to 500.

Hilton Honors Gold members receive an 80% bonus on base points, a daily continental breakfast or food‑and‑beverage credit at select brands, and potential upgrades to preferred rooms. They also earn milestone bonus points, a fifth‑night free benefit on reward stays of five nights or more, and a daily breakfast for two guests at most properties.

Leaders Club Sterling status offers priority room upgrades upon arrival, daily continental breakfast for two, free Wi‑Fi, a 5% bonus on qualified room rates, and pre‑arrival upgrades after the first paid stay. Additional perks include early check‑in and late checkout arrangements, and complimentary Sixt Platinum car‑rental status.

These complimentary statuses can be particularly useful for travelers who do not frequently stay within a single program and wish to avoid adding a dedicated hotel credit card to their wallet. However, the cards do not contribute to earning higher status levels through additional points or nights.
