Although both events share the same name, Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked events are distinct, with the February event focusing on the new Galaxy S26 series, including the Galaxy S26 Ultra's innovative Privacy Display. In contrast, July's Unpacked is expected to focus on Samsung's foldable devices.
Last year's foldable lineup included the Galaxy Z 7 series, consisting of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, so it's likely that Samsung will release the Galaxy Z 8 series this year, featuring the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. However, there may be more to the story, as rumors suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra might actually be a new device entirely, with a wider display within a smaller frame.
Samsung may also take the opportunity to unveil its next generation of smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, which are rumored to have minimal changes from the previous generation. Furthermore, with AI companies gobbling up RAM and storage hardware, leading to increased costs, it's likely that Samsung will raise prices on its newest Galaxy devices.
Prices could increase by as much as $100 across the board, with the Fold 8 Ultra potentially starting at $2,099 and the Flip 8 costing $1,199. As Samsung itself stated in April, it won't be able to meet memory production demand this year, so price hikes are not unexpected.
