The Toronto Police have made an arrest in connection with a gun incident in North York last week.
A 21-year-old man is accused of throwing a loaded handgun while fleeing from police in the area of Driftwood Ave. and Finch Ave. W. on July 15.
According to police, officers from the 31 Division Major Crime Unit were conducting an investigation in the area when they encountered two males just before 9:30 p.m.

It is alleged that the suspect began running with another male after seeing officers in a marked police car, prompting a foot pursuit by the police.
During the pursuit, one of the males allegedly threw a firearm, which was recovered by the officers along with an extended magazine and another loaded extended magazine found in a satchel carried by the man who was taken into custody.
Two police officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the course of the foot pursuit and arrest.
The suspect, Shevontae Stewart-Wilson, 21, of Toronto, faces several charges related to the incident, including unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, and careless storage of a firearm.
A description of the second suspect is not available at this time, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
