Moscow has dismissed claims that it is preparing to attack European NATO members as nonsense. The Kremlin has instead accused the West of jeopardizing global security through reckless militarization.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that Russia is part of Europe, not a threat to it. He described the portrayal of Russia as Europe's main danger as unreasonable and wrong.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has also stated that Moscow does not seek war with Europe. However, he warned that Russia is ready to respond if European states initiate a conflict.
