UMVA has learned that Anthropic is working to reinstate Fable 5 as a standard part of its subscription plans, but only when it has sufficient capacity to support the move.
The company aims to restore access to Fable 5 as soon as possible, but for now, users on paid Claude plans can test it out with a significant caveat: their usage meters will drain much faster compared to Claude Opus 4.8, the next most powerful Claude model.
One individual who attempted to use Fable 5 with Claude Code reported being abruptly kicked off, accompanied by a vague error message citing an "issue with this model," leaving the cause of the disruption unclear.
