A major milestone has been reached in the development of a new casino in Chicago, as construction crews have successfully lifted the final structural steel beam into place, marking the completion of the building's framework. The topping-off ceremony, which took place at the site of the former Chicago Tribune Freedom Center, signals that the building has reached its full height, and work can now shift towards interior construction and finishing. The project is expected to be completed in spring 2027. The $1.7 billion development is set to become Chicago's first permanent casino destination.
