A University of Central Florida student was arrested in February 2025 following a confrontation with police inside a campus building.
The encounter began when an officer investigating a stolen vehicle entered the building and was confronted by a 27-year-old student with blue hair. The student shouted at the officer about other individuals being present and refused to calm down.
Body camera footage shows the officer warning the student about possible detention under the Baker Act for a psychiatric evaluation. The situation escalated when the student challenged the officer and demanded specific pronoun usage.
Backup was called after the student became increasingly agitated. The officer deployed pepper spray and pursued the student through the room as the confrontation intensified.
