A 25-year-old New Jersey man has been accused of carrying out two violent attacks within minutes in Newark on Saturday morning.
The first incident occurred around 7:30 a.m., when the suspect struck a nun with a closed fist, causing her to fall, and fled with her purse near Orange Street and South 11th Street.
The nun was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Roughly thirty minutes later, the suspect allegedly targeted a second woman who had just exited a bus on Hudson Street.
Authorities say he displayed a handgun and demanded her belongings, then struck her in the face, pushed her to the ground, and choked her until she lost consciousness.
The woman was later discovered to have been sexually assaulted and was also taken to a hospital, where she remains in stable condition.
The attacks took place in broad daylight, prompting a police investigation into both assaults.
