Arsenal Transfer Rumors Debunked: Martin Keown Dismisses Latest

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has expressed his skepticism about the club signing Manchester United's Marcus Rashford this summer, stating that he would be surprised if the move were to happen.

Rashford has been linked with the Gunners as a potential replacement for Leandro Trossard, who departed the Emirates to join Besiktas last week. However, Keown does not believe that Rashford is the right fit for the team.

Keown pointed out that Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona and had a relatively successful stint, but he also had issues behind the scenes. He added that Rashford returning to Manchester United with Michael Carrick could be a problem, as it may be a distraction for the player.

Despite the setback of losing Morgan Rogers to Chelsea, Keown believes that Arsenal will still strengthen in attack before the transfer deadline. He suggested that the club may sign a central midfielder, a left winger, and a centre-forward to compete with Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz.

Rogers' switch to Chelsea was reportedly motivated by money, with the England midfielder opting to leave a Champions League-qualified team for one that finished tenth. Keown believes that Rogers' departure is a significant loss for Aston Villa and that the midfielder will be a big loss to the team.

Keown also questioned the £117m fee that Chelsea agreed to pay for Rogers, stating that it is a market force and that the money is crazy. He added that Rogers will be tied to the club until 2032, having agreed to a six-year contract.

Keown has no doubts about Rogers' talent and believes that he will be a big loss to Aston Villa. He pointed out that Rogers showed his talent in the World Cup and that he will be a significant loss to the team.

Arsenal's transfer plans are still unclear, but Keown believes that the club will continue to strengthen in the coming weeks. He suggested that the team may sign a left winger and a centre-forward, and that a central midfielder could also be a priority.
