The future of 23-year-old midfielder Martin Baturina, a key player for Como, remains uncertain as the club receives interest from top Premier League teams.
Baturina joined Como last year in a £17 million transfer from Dinamo Zagreb and has quickly made a name for himself, playing 34 times in all competitions and scoring eight goals as the team qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history.
The midfielder has also taken his tally of Croatia caps to 23 at the World Cup, scoring against England in the group stage, and is under contract with Como until 2030.
Despite the interest from big clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham, and Aston Villa, Como president Mirwan Suwarso is not trying to claim that Baturina is not for sale, but has pointed out that the club will not be pushed around in the transfer market.
He stated, 'If there’s an offer, we’ll listen. If we like it, we’ll accept, but we’re not afraid to refuse.' Suwarso also mentioned that Como rejected a €60m offer for another player last summer and another €40m offer in the winter.
Como have been ambitious under ownership Djarum Group and manager Cesc Fabregas, aiming to keep their squad together as much as possible before a Champions League challenge.
Baturina, who has spoken positively about his experience at Como, has an asking price of €80 million, with Bayern Munich reportedly holding an interest in him.
