President Trump praised incoming UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham on Sunday for plans to open oil and gas drilling in the North Sea.
Trump said the policy would make the United Kingdom "one of the Richest Countries anywhere in the World" and claimed residents of Aberdeen, Scotland, were celebrating the decision.
Burnham is expected to formally announce the drilling initiative when he assumes office on Monday.

The move would reverse the current ban on oil and gas exploration in the North Sea imposed under the previous administration.
It also breaks from the Labour Party's 2024 pledge not to issue new drilling licenses.
The policy shift has already drawn opposition from party members aligned with net-zero emissions commitments.
