HIT & RUN HERO: Trucker Vanishes After 401 Chaos!

A morning commute on Highway 401 near London turned chaotic when a transport truck collided with two vehicles and then fled the scene, leaving one person injured.

The incident unfolded shortly before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, as the truck was eastbound, weaving erratically through traffic west of Veterans Memorial Parkway. Witnesses described a dangerous pattern of cutting in and out of lanes.

The truck slammed into the rear of a car at an estimated 105 kilometers per hour. The force of the impact propelled that car into a nearby minivan, sending the minivan careening off the roadway and into the ditch.

Emergency services arrived to find a scene of twisted metal and shattered glass. One individual was transported to a local hospital with what were described as minor injuries, a fortunate outcome given the severity of the crash.

Despite the damage and the injured party, the transport truck continued eastbound on the 401, disappearing from the scene without stopping. Investigators are now actively searching for the vehicle.

Police are appealing to the public for assistance, specifically requesting anyone with dash-camera footage from that stretch of highway around 7 a.m. to come forward. Every second of video could prove crucial to identifying the truck and its driver.

Investigators described the truck as maroon in color, equipped with a sleeper cab but notably *without* a trailer. A piece of debris recovered from the scene suggests significant front-end damage to the fleeing vehicle.

This collision occurred shortly after police issued warnings about hazardous driving conditions due to snow and ice on area roads. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of speeding and reckless driving, especially during inclement weather.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Middlesex OPP detachment. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are determined to locate the truck and hold the driver accountable.
