The Philippines improved its standing in the 2025 Nature Conservation Index, rising seven positions to 141st out of 180 countries.
The country recorded a score of 50.3 out of 100 in the annual assessment of global conservation performance.
The index evaluates national efforts through four pillars: capacity and governance, threat to biodiversity, land management, and future trends.

Twenty-five indicators are used to measure how effectively countries protect natural ecosystems and conserve biological diversity.
