Lopez's Hat Diverts Focus, Overshadows Tennis Match

The last weekend of Wimbledon attracted a plethora of famous faces, including Oscar winners and music royalty. The prestigious tennis tournament is renowned for its strict dress code, which requires spectators to wear smart-casual attire, avoiding items like torn jeans and beachwear.

Among the many American celebrities who made the trip across the Atlantic was Jennifer Lopez. While she adhered to some of the rules, nailing the garden party vibe in a beige wrap dress and stiletto sandals, her headwear choice sparked controversy. Lopez wore a natural-coloured straw hat with an extra-wide brim, which violated Wimbledon's dress code by potentially restricting the view or enjoyment of other attendees.

The internet was divided over Lopez's fashion choice, with some finding it hilarious and others branding it 'rude'. Some users joked that the hat looked as though it was made from an Amazon box, while others expressed frustration at having to sit behind Lopez with a fan and a hat that could cast a shadow over a large area.

Lopez eventually took the hat off to reveal her honey blonde locks styled in a sleek blow dry, likely to the relief of those sitting behind her. Meanwhile, other celebrities got the Wimbledon style memo, with Kate Middleton, Nicole Kidman, and Sienna Miller turning heads with their elegant looks.

Kate Middleton, as Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, is known for her elegant looks at the tournament. On Sunday, she presented the trophies on finals day in a bespoke version of an Emilia Wickstead cape dress, which she styled with a matching brown bag and shoes. Nicole Kidman, on the other hand, rocked a tailored cream Ralph Lauren suit with a smaller straw hat and white textured loafers.

Sienna Miller joined Nicole in the Royal Box wearing a breezy, prairie-style dress from Alexander McQueen, which featured ruffles, pleats, and blue pinstripes. Raye, meanwhile, looked as glamorous as ever in an all-black ensemble, complete with a fitted waistcoat and matching pleated maxi skirt.

Actors Daisy Edgar-Jones and Lily Collins twinned in monochrome looks, with Daisy wearing a black and white v-neck vest and vertical striped towel skirt, and Lily opting for a Y2K feel in a white bandeau top and black flip flops.
