Former Marine congressional candidate calls Trump the Antichrist

A Republican write‑in candidate for Florida’s 5th Congressional District, former U.S. Marine William Upham, posted a nearly seven‑minute video in which he labeled President Donald Trump as “the Antichrist” and declared that the president “must be killed.”

Upham introduced the video by stating his campaign aims to restore bipartisanship, return power to the working class, and repair what he described as a broken political system.

The tone shifted as Upham asserted that the nation is “broken” and engaged in a spiritual battle, citing biblical passages and referencing the oath he took as a Marine officer to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

He claimed there is “no doubt” that Trump is “the Antichrist,” describing the president as a false messiah and an enemy who must be killed.

Upham concluded by urging viewers to consider whether they are “worshiping a false idol,” and asserted that Trump will be killed, sent to hell, and that God will prevail over evil.

The U.S. Marine Corps issued a statement condemning the remarks, noting that Upham was medically discharged on May 30, 2025, and that his comments violate the oath he swore and conflict with Marine values.

The U.S. Secret Service acknowledged awareness of the statements and indicated that any perceived threat toward a protectee is being investigated, while declining to discuss operational details.

Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao also condemned the remarks as unacceptable, emphasizing that Upham no longer represents Marine values or ethos.

Requests for comment were sent to the FBI, the White House, and Upham’s campaign.
