A 45-year-old Toronto man now faces multiple harassment charges stemming from a series of unsettling encounters across the city last year. Investigators believe he deliberately targeted individuals, capturing them on video while subjecting them to unwanted attention and, in some cases, abusive comments.
The incidents began in June of 2025 at an event near Dundas Street West and Dufferin Street. A woman asked the man to stop filming her, but he allegedly became aggressive and continued to harass her, only leaving when security and police intervened. Thankfully, no physical injuries were reported in that initial confrontation.
The behavior escalated in August, when a TTC employee at Union Station was allegedly subjected to a particularly invasive act. The man reportedly held a cellphone inches from the employee’s face while filming and making disparaging remarks about their ethnicity. Again, the employee was unharmed, but deeply disturbed.
September saw another incident unfold at David Pecaut Square. A man waiting in line at a vendor’s stall was approached and filmed, and when he asked the man to stop, he allegedly moved closer and became increasingly confrontational, refusing to cease recording.
Perhaps most disturbingly, a female police officer became the target of this behavior on two separate occasions. In May, while on duty near Yonge Street and Shuter Street, she was filmed and subjected to unwanted comments about her appearance. The same officer was approached again in October, in the Yonge Street and Dundas Street West area, and received similar treatment.
Following a thorough investigation, Mohamed Askar Mohamed-Razik was arrested on December 10th, 2025, and charged with four counts of criminal harassment. Police are now actively seeking information about potential additional victims who may have experienced similar encounters.
Authorities have released an image of the accused, hoping to jog the memories of anyone who may have been targeted. Anyone with information relevant to this ongoing investigation is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
