Hollywood GROUNDED: £400K Helicopter Nightmare Continues!

Paul Hollywood, the nation’s famously stern-faced baker, is pursuing a new passion – taking to the skies. For nearly two years, he’s been diligently working towards earning his pilot’s license, a pursuit proving far more challenging than perfecting a sourdough.

While most aspiring pilots require around 45 hours of flight training, Hollywood has logged significantly more time in the cockpit, yet still finds himself needing extra instruction. Observers note he’s still relying on assistance, a testament to the skill and precision required to master flight.

Recent sightings in Kent revealed Hollywood practicing maneuvers, appearing focused and determined despite the ongoing learning curve. He was even spotted sporting a jacket emblazoned with his flying school’s logo, a clear indication of his dedication.

This aerial ambition comes as Hollywood prepares for a significant shift in his other professional life: the Great British Bake Off. The beloved baking competition is entering a new era, with a changing of the guard in the judging panel.

Dame Prue Leith, a cornerstone of the show since its move to Channel 4, has announced her departure after seven seasons and over 400 challenges judged. She cited a desire to dedicate more time to her garden and other personal pursuits.

Stepping into Prue’s shoes is culinary icon Nigella Lawson, a move that has generated considerable excitement. Prue herself has enthusiastically endorsed Lawson, praising her expertise and vibrant personality, predicting they’ll bring a “new flavour” to the tent.

Hollywood, a constant presence on Bake Off since 2010, seems to be embracing the change. He publicly expressed his affection for Prue, and colleagues believe he and Lawson will work exceptionally well together.

Despite the demands of his baking career and now, flight school, Hollywood has previously described his role on Bake Off as a “real treat,” cherishing the opportunity to meet talented bakers from all walks of life. However, he’s also confessed to the less glamorous side of the job – the sheer volume of sweet treats he’s obligated to sample.

He’s openly admitted that consuming dozens of bites of sugary creations can be surprisingly unpleasant, leading to bloating and a general feeling of overindulgence. It’s a sacrifice he willingly makes, but a challenge nonetheless.
