A wave of precision strikes has recently targeted ISIS infrastructure within Syria, marking a sustained effort to dismantle the remnants of the terrorist organization. Over ten days, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported executing ten separate strikes against more than 30 ISIS targets, utilizing a diverse arsenal of aircraft.
These operations, conducted between February 3rd and 12th, involved fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned drones delivering precision munitions. The focus was on ISIS infrastructure and strategically important weapons storage facilities, aiming to disrupt their capabilities.
Prior to this concentrated effort, CENTCOM forces had already engaged ISIS targets in Syria between January 27th and February 2nd. Five strikes specifically targeted an ISIS communication hub, a vital logistics node, and additional weapons caches.
Admiral Brad Cooper, the CENTCOM commander, emphasized the unwavering commitment to preventing an ISIS resurgence. He stated that these actions demonstrate a continued resolve to safeguard not only America but also the broader region and the world.
The current operations are a direct response to a devastating ISIS ambush that occurred on December 13th, 2025, in Palmyra, Syria. This attack tragically claimed the lives of two U.S. service members and an American interpreter, igniting a focused counteroffensive.
In the two months following the Palmyra attack, CENTCOM reports a significant impact: over 50 ISIS terrorists have been killed or captured. Simultaneously, more than 100 ISIS infrastructure targets have been neutralized by hundreds of precision munitions.
Adding to the evolving landscape, CENTCOM recently announced the completion of the withdrawal of American forces from al-Tanf Garrison in Syria. This move signals a broader recalibration of the U.S. military posture within the region.
These actions are part of Operation Inherent Resolve, launched in 2014 to combat ISIS. Even after the territorial defeat of ISIS in 2019, a limited U.S. presence has been maintained to support partner forces and prevent the group’s re-emergence.
The ongoing operations represent a determined effort to maintain pressure on ISIS, even as the U.S. adjusts its overall strategy in Syria. The goal remains the enduring defeat of the terrorist organization and the long-term security of the region.
