Green-Lane Investments Surge to P351 Billion in 1st Half: BoI Data

The Board of Investments announced certification of projects worth P351.02 billion for the “green lane” expedited permit system during the first half of the year.

Seventeen projects received endorsement to the One‑Stop Action Center for Strategic Investments by the end of June.

These projects are projected to create more than 39,368 jobs.

Renewable energy dominates the approvals, with roughly fourteen projects valued at P349.38 billion passing the green lane by the end of June.

Two food‑security initiatives, together worth P980 million, were also certified.

In the three months leading to June, three additional projects secured green lane status.

The approvals include the 50‑megawatt Southwest Kalinga Geothermal Power Project, valued at P5.52 billion, and a wind‑energy project in Negros Occidental worth P4.76 billion.

Both projects are expected to add clean‑energy capacity that supports national renewable‑energy targets.

An industrial‑zone development in Pampanga, valued at P670 million, received green lane certification and aims to strengthen the province’s investment ecosystem and regional value chains.

Since the green lane system’s launch in February 2023, a total of 239 strategic investment projects have been certified.

Collectively, these projects represent an investment of P6.32 trillion and are anticipated to generate about 421,000 jobs across renewable energy, digital infrastructure, public‑private partnerships, infrastructure, water, food security, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals.

Renewable‑energy projects account for 183 of the certified initiatives, comprising P5.42 trillion, or roughly 85.68 % of total investment.

The green lane mechanism, established under Executive Order No. 18, seeks to accelerate permit processing for projects deemed strategic.

Officials describe the system as a critical tool for advancing investments that drive economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development.
