During the call, President Trump extended an invitation to the White House and the State of the Union, then added a seemingly offhand remark about also inviting the women’s team, who had also secured gold in a stunning overtime win of their own.
Goaltender Jeremy Swayman, returning to his NHL season with the Bruins, openly acknowledged the team’s response hadn’t been ideal. He expressed deep respect and gratitude for the women’s team, emphasizing the shared joy of their dual victories and the significance of celebrating together.
