Passengers on the Beatles-themed bus tour were delighted when the singer and songwriter was spotted chatting with his bandmate Ringo Starr on a car phone call as they passed by.
One enthusiastic fan, Tony, jumped onto the bus's microphone, exclaiming, "He then waved at everyone on the bus and pulled out Ringo on his phone." The brief encounter was described as a "magical coincidence" by another fan, who couldn't believe their luck.
The Magical Mystery Tour takes fans on a two-hour journey through Liverpool, showcasing the city's rich Beatles heritage. The tour ends at the Cavern Club, where the band performed in the early 1960s.
Liverpool is now a bustling hub of Beatles memorabilia, with statues, museums, gift shops, and even rentable yellow submarine houseboats along the dockyards.
Sir Paul was in town to present an award to Adolescence star Stephen Graham from his school, the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
His visit was announced on the official Liverpool Instagram page, which shared a photo of Sir Paul giving a thumbs up from a car, captioned, "Guess who's back in town."
