Jennifer Finch, the iconic bassist and founding member of the influential grunge band L7, has passed away at the age of 59.
The news comes just days after Finch's cancer diagnosis was made public, with the musician requiring extensive medical care and rehabilitation.
A post on Finch's Instagram page revealed her passing, with loved ones expressing their devastation and appreciation for the musician's impact on the world of music and their lives.

L7 was set to embark on their Last Hurrah Tour in October, marking 40 years since the band's formation in Los Angeles.
The band had initially set up a fundraising campaign to support Finch's medical care, with fans and friends rallying around the musician in her time of need.
Finch's legacy as a pioneering female musician and her contributions to the punk and grunge scenes will be deeply missed, with tributes pouring in from fans and fellow musicians.

L7's original lineup included Finch, Suzi Gardner, Dee Plakas, and Donita Sparks, and the band released four albums before going on hiatus in 1996.
The band reformed in 2014 and released another record, with Finch's impact on their music and legacy being celebrated by fans and fellow musicians alike.
A tribute from fellow musician Stacey Kelvin Dee captured the sentiment, saying, "Heartbreaking! There aren't a lot of women that give their lives to rock n roll, to punk, to being in a band of all women… I loved you, buddy! You were one of the coolest girls that ever walked the earth! Thank you Jen, for all you've done for the rest of us girls, that are giving our lives for rock n roll, for punk, to be in a band of all women! See you soonish, sister!"
