Nigella Lawson, 66, joined the show earlier this year following the departure of longtime judge Prue Leith. Production on the new series is now underway.
The newest judge is said to be unimpressed by the arrival habits of her fellow judge, Paul Hollywood, 60. Hollywood reportedly commutes roughly 120 miles from his Kent residence via a personal helicopter.
A source familiar with the set described the aircraft as a status symbol that makes the baker appear ostentatious. The remainder of the cast and crew, including Lawson, are said to travel by car.
Insiders claim the pair are not connecting well behind the scenes. Hollywood is reportedly unsettled by Lawson’s addition to the lineup after growing accustomed to a dynamic with previous judges.
Lawson has already made an impression with her trademark humor during filming. Her candid remarks about kitchen tools and dessert textures have drawn attention on set.
The show previously featured Hollywood alongside Dame Mary Berry, who left in 2016. Berry later noted professional differences with Hollywood but praised his expertise as a baker.
