President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. remains indifferent to fluctuations in his net satisfaction ratings, officials said. The comment was made during a briefing conducted in Filipino.
A palace spokesperson emphasized that the president does not consider the numbers in his decision‑making, noting he will not seek re‑election and is focused on his duties. He is described as simply performing his job.
The latest Social Weather Station survey for June 2026 shows his net satisfaction rating improved to –7, up from a record low of –15 recorded in March. The data reflect a modest recovery in public sentiment.
The poll indicates 38 % of adult respondents express satisfaction with his performance, while 45 % remain dissatisfied, resulting in a net neutral rating. The remaining respondents are categorized as neutral.
In the Philippines, such satisfaction metrics serve as indicators of public trust and approval for senior officials and often guide the prioritization of government programs. They also highlight issues that citizens consider most urgent.
While officials may use the data to adjust policy focus, the president’s personal response remains unchanged; he will continue to work according to his agenda. The administration asserts that governance proceeds regardless of rating changes.
