Chelsea has intensified its transfer activity, targeting French defender Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace in a move that could cost around £52 million.
The French international confirmed his desire to leave Selhurst Park after the 2022‑23 season, prompting the Blues to fast‑track negotiations and position themselves ahead of rivals.
Acquiring Lacroix would give Chelsea a third signing under the new manager, following the recent arrivals of Marco Palestra and Morgan Rogers.
At the same time, Serie A side Como has presented a revised bid for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, offering roughly £22 million with potential add‑ons.
Chelsea values Chalobah closer to £30 million and has reportedly declined the offer, while the defender, who has made 151 appearances for the club, remains under contract until summer 2028.
The transfer window has seen several departures from Stamford Bridge, including Alejandro Garnacho to Aston Villa, Tyrique George to Everton, Andrey Santos to Manchester United, and Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid.
Other squad members, such as Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez, face uncertain futures as the club evaluates their roles for the upcoming season.
