Philippines boosts tourism and leisure to new heights.

Metro Pacific Investments Corp., led by Manuel V. Pangilinan, has expanded its reach from infrastructure to luxury real estate, positioning itself as a key player in the Philippines’ property market.

In 2021, the company acquired full ownership of Landco Pacific Corp., a developer founded in 1990 that specializes in upscale master‑planned residential projects. Landco has since added prominent luxury developments to its portfolio, drawing international attention.

The company’s flagship property, the Nautilus at CaSoBe in Calatagan, Batangas, earned four top honors at the 2026–2027 Asia‑Pacific Property Awards, including Five Stars in Architecture for Multiple Residences, Leisure Architecture, Sustainable Residential Development, and Leisure Development.

Additionally, the Nautilus is the sole Philippine property nominated for the International Property Awards in London, competing in Architecture for Multiple Residences and Leisure Architecture categories.

Landco’s President and CEO Erickson Y. Manzano emphasized that the accolades validate the company’s commitment to design, people, and environmental stewardship, and that the property aims to provide a “life on vacation” for residents now and in future generations.

The ten‑storey condotel sits on 15 hectares of white‑sand coastline, powered entirely by renewable energy. It features a robust infrastructure, a lighthouse center, and commercial parcels that enable local entrepreneurs to participate in the tourism economy.

Among its amenities is the “Chairman’s Cabin,” a 300‑square‑meter villa built for Pangilinan, offering four bedrooms and versatile spaces for relaxation, social gatherings, and business meetings.

The Nautilus follows The Spinnaker at Club Laiya, which became the first Philippine property to win Best International Sustainable Residential Development at the 2024–2025 International Property Awards.

Club Laiya, a 23‑hectare coastal development in San Juan, Batangas, is divided into a Seaside District for commercial and hospitality use and a Premier District that integrates nature and eco‑trail‑bounded forest communities for long‑term residential units.

Landco’s projects align with the parent company’s environmental strategy, positioning real estate as a protective force for local ecosystems.

Both CaSoBe and Club Laiya achieved LEED Neighborhood Development certification, incorporating water‑recycling systems, LED lighting, permeable walkways, and bike lanes to reduce flooding and encourage sustainable transport.

The company’s Beachtowns also received EDGE certification, a first in the Philippines for resort hospitality. The Crusoe Cabins, built from refurbished cargo containers, cut energy use by 34%, water use by 57%, and material energy consumption by 65% compared with local standards.

Landco provides buyers with guidelines for responsible construction, such as installing solar panels, maximizing natural light, and using dual‑piping systems that separate drinking water from recycled water for toilets and landscaping.

Beyond building, the developer partners with environmental agencies and local volunteers to plant mangrove saplings and construct infrastructure that preserves community livelihoods, supporting broader sustainable development goals.
