Earlier this month, a large group of teenage e‑bike riders disrupted traffic on a busy stretch of downtown Orlando.
The riders swarmed cars at intersections, ran red lights, and blocked an ambulance with flashing lights, creating a significant safety risk for residents and emergency responders.
Police released footage showing the chaotic scene and the apprehension of several riders captured on body‑camera and surveillance video.
A statement from the department warned that reckless riding, traffic obstruction, and interference with emergency vehicles would not be tolerated and would be met with enforcement.
Because of the group's size and mobility, not all riders were immediately detained, but officers took action where it could be done safely.
The exact number of charges filed remains unclear.
Officials reiterated that continued enforcement is essential to maintaining safety in the downtown area.
