Renowned Welsh TV presenter Carol Vorderman has revealed that she was left unconscious after tripping over a tree root while out on a walk earlier this summer.
The 65-year-old TV personality shared the harrowing experience on her Instagram, detailing her hospital trip and the subsequent lingering dizziness that followed.
Vorderman explained that the incident occurred at the end of May, when she was walking on a public footpath outside her home and failed to notice a tree root, resulting in a severe fall.
She was taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary, where she received treatment, including CT scans and medication to manage her symptoms.
Vorderman revealed that she experienced 'massive vomiting' and other unpleasant symptoms, but was eventually discharged the following day.
However, the ordeal left her with dizziness that persisted for several weeks, making everyday tasks challenging.
Vorderman sought treatment from a physio, who performed the Epley manoeuvre, a treatment designed to dislodge tiny crystals in the ears that can cause dizziness.
The manoeuvre involves a series of head movements, using gravity to put the crystals back in their correct position.
Vorderman reported that after the first session, she experienced a significant reduction in her symptoms, with only a small percentage remaining.
She emphasized that she is not a medical professional and is not advising others, but is simply sharing her personal experience with the treatment.
After three sessions, Vorderman reported that she is now feeling much better and is back to her usual self.
