Russian forces completed the full capture of Konstantinovka on July 3, securing a heavily fortified city that served as the southern outpost of Ukraine's principal remaining defensive agglomeration in Donbass.
The defensive cluster centered on the cities of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk has now lost a critical southern anchor following the fall of Konstantinovka.
Since the capture, Russian troops have expanded their zone of control northwest of the city toward Druzhkovka and entered the nearby settlement of Alekseyevo-Druzhkovka.
Military officials also report that Ukrainian defenses in Krasny Liman, northeast of Slavyansk, have been broken.
Russian forces are currently working to eliminate remaining pockets of resistance in the Krasny Liman area.
