Boston police are investigating the discovery of a body at a property on Malta Street in the Mattapan neighborhood.
Officers responded to a call at the residence on Saturday afternoon, and the case was later upgraded to a death investigation.
Homicide detectives were brought in as the inquiry progressed.
The property has previously been listed as the business address of Conan Harris, husband of Representative Ayanna Pressley.
The deceased has not yet been publicly identified.
Pressley and Harris do not reside at the Mattapan property, which has been rented out to others.
A spokesperson for the congresswoman issued a statement on behalf of the family, extending deepest condolences to the impacted family.
Harris addressed the incident in a social media post on Saturday, confirming his family was safe and expressing sympathy for the family of the deceased.
Harris, married to Pressley since 2014, previously served as a senior public safety adviser in Boston City Hall and now runs a consulting firm.
He served ten years in prison on prior drug trafficking charges.
Authorities have not disclosed the cause of death or identified any potential suspects.
