Police are searching for a masked gunman who allegedly shot a 21‑year‑old cab driver in the face during an overnight armed robbery in Brooklyn.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. Saturday when the suspect approached a livery cab, a vehicle typically used for pre‑arranged rides. The suspect entered the vehicle, threatened the driver, and demanded money and the keys.
When the driver tried to exit, the suspect opened fire, striking him in the face. The victim managed to leave the vehicle after being shot.
The suspect fled on foot after taking an unknown amount of currency, but left all other items in the cab.
Emergency medical services arrived at 4:15 a.m. and transported the victim to a local hospital where he remains in stable condition. The shooting was classified as non‑fatal.
Authorities are asking the public to help identify the suspect, who was last seen wearing blue shorts, a black sweatshirt, a black surgical mask, black shoes, and carrying a black backpack.
