A stunning transformation is taking place in the heart of Scottsdale, Arizona. The Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas, rising from the grounds of the former Scottsdale Plaza Resort, is poised to become a new haven for those seeking a desert escape.
Spanning forty acres in the exclusive Paradise Valley, the resort promises an immersive experience deeply connected to its surroundings. The vision is to blend the tranquility of nature with the vibrant energy of nearby Old Town Scottsdale, offering guests the best of both worlds.
Upon opening, the resort will feature 222 thoughtfully designed canyon guestrooms and 38 private casitas. Interiors will draw inspiration from the desert landscape, utilizing a palette of terracotta, sage, coral, and violet, complemented by the warmth of natural woods.
The outdoor spaces are equally captivating, boasting six distinct pools, including a remarkable three-tier Canyon Oasis. Guests can anticipate shaded cabanas, comfortable daybeds, and attentive service with chilled towels and sweet treats.
Wellness is central to the Miralina experience. An immersive sound installation, a stargazing oculus nestled into dune-like seating, and luxurious poolside massage pavilions offer opportunities for rejuvenation and relaxation.
Beyond the pools and wellness offerings, guests can indulge in culinary delights. Cima, a poolside bar helmed by Los Angeles chef Wes Avila, will serve up innovative craft cocktails, while Hecho Libre provides Baja-inspired Mexican cuisine throughout the day.
Kimpton’s signature hosted evening social hour will also be reimagined, embracing a “Sonoran ritual” that celebrates the breathtaking desert sunsets. This promises a unique and memorable experience for every guest.
The resort’s phased opening will begin in January 2026, with the first guestrooms and casitas welcoming visitors. A further 144 villas and residences are slated to open in late 2026, expanding the resort’s offerings.
The Kimpton Miralina joins the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix as the second Kimpton property in Arizona, solidifying the brand’s presence in the Southwest. It represents a significant investment in luxury hospitality and a commitment to creating unforgettable experiences.
The resort is designed to be a sanctuary, a place where the beauty of the desert is celebrated and guests can reconnect with themselves and the natural world. It’s a destination poised to redefine the Arizona resort experience.
